I'm recently retired from AT&T with 31 years. I was a service representative for 6 years way back before AT&T had computers in the business office. I was later an installation/repair technician for the last 22 years of service. I don't miss working outside in all kinds of weather or getting up in the morning. I do miss the customers. I've hooked poles and climbed a lot of ladders over the years. I've been married for the last 31 years to Terry, who is a carpenter and we've raised 4 children. Safety when climbing ladders has always been extremely important to me. I always felt that if I was hurt on the job, who would raise my kids, certainly not the phone company. I could always follow all the safety rules but ultimately, on job safety was up to me to make the right decision. I never had any ladder injuries and neither did my husband.
